My Little trip to Paris

Hi babes! In my earlier post, i mentioned my little 5day schooltrip  to paris.
I love Paris, and when it comes down to trips like these, i like to search all over instagram, tumblr, pinterest to see where i want to go to shop, eat and do stuff. Now since it was a school trip, i didn’t do/ate much of the places i had found. Still i had a great time and i’d like to share some photo’s and recommendations!

Day 1

Day 1 started early, 5:30am for me to be precise, since we had to be at school at 6:30am. When we all arrived at school we took the bus for a 7hour ride, till we arrived in the oh so lovely paris. Imideatly after we dropped off our stuff in our rooms, we headed to the Notredam and dinner afterwards. This would be the only restaurant in Paris i could truly recommend you. After looking for ages, we sat down at a pizza restaurant called ‘magaritha’ but this place was amazing. Besides the fact that it looked super cute, i had the best pizza EVER in this place, such a lovely evening! And later this evening we went on a boat-tour on the Seine, which was really nice.

Day2:

Thuesday morning we visited Versailles, i loved it to be honest, it was such an amazing place to take pictures. And it was gorgeous to look at. Though it was super crouded sadly. After lunch we were supposed to see the place Napoleon was burried, but instead me and 2 friends run off to a Kenzo store near by. (I bought a kenzo shirt i’ll show you guys in a outfit post soon!) after dinner we visited the Eiffeltower. This was one of my most favourite things to do this trip. I had been to paris and the eiffel tower before, but this was my first time going up. We went to the top and had a gorgeous view. And because we didn’t wanted to wait for the elevater we went down by taking the stairs, which actually was so much fun, i’d totally suggest that!

Day 3:

Today we went to the natural history museum, montmarte, sacre-coeur, arc the triophe and Champs Elysees, (which was the best part of the day, cause we got to go shop) (+!totally go and visit the Louis Vuitton and Abercrombie store, since these buildings are amazing!) and then louvre, which i also really liked, though the Mona Lisa was slightly dissapointing. And in the late evening ‘paris by night’ with our bus.

Day 4:

Disney! I had been to disney once before at age of 6, but was so excited to go and visit again. I felt like a little girl again when me and my best friend bought a enourmous lollypop and ate this while in the ‘turning cups’. We simply went in almost every attraction, and had so much fun. Especially the light show at the castle at night was spectacular. With water, and fireworks, so beautiful!

Day 5:

Shopping at Printemps in the morning, got the time to get some macaroons from Laduree, and afterwards back into the bus. Way to short this trip, while others were looking forward to go home again, i’d preffer to tie myself to a tree and stay, haha.

I hoped you liked this post, and have a nice weekend!

BCN DIARY DAY4, + MORE

Hi! Welcome to my barcelona diary, i’ll wright about what i did the 4th day of my trip, and a little of the days following.

Today we got a chance to visit Casa Mila, another one of Gaudi’s creations. This tour was very different from the other house, and although i preffered the other one more, this house was yet again really beautiful!

After Casa Mila we went to have lunch at Flax & Kale, such a nice hotspot! Definetely a recommendation! Flax & Kale sell’s juices from Teresas juicery, (which very much reminded me of the pressed juicery ones. (you see them everywhere on tumblr) which i bought in  America last year. And also gluten free, organic and vegeterian (they do have fish) food. Really nice!

After lunch we wondered around the narrow streets behind La Ramblas, and gave a visit to Casa Guell, my dad just wanted to stop by to take a photo, but when we saw there was no line ( wich is truly rare, be prepared, haha). we decided, why not give this place a visit aswel. Casa Guell is yet again designed by Gaudi, so we kinda had a Gaudi tour 2.0 today. Lot’s of architecture! All the houses are very different, and it was nice to see this one, beautiful again. though i wouldn’t necceserly recommened it, since this house was my least favourite of all the Gaudi stuff i’ve seen these past days.

We went to have a drink on the Placa Reial i really love this place, the houses and palmtrees are so lovely, i can sit here for ages! It’s practically surrounded by restaurants, so where you go doesn’t make a huge difference, especially not if you, like us, just come to sit and have a drink. We had one at ‘Ocaña’ since this place looked the most appealing to me. I liked the bold letters.

We had dinner at Bar Lobo, i found this place on pinterest, and had planned it for a lunchspot for the next day, but on friday we would be going to Montserrat, and we weren’t sure if we would make it. So we just had dinner here! It isn’t a very local dinner place, since it closes at 10pm, but they had some amazing tapas! The second best i had so far (Bar del pla, day 1 was my fave). I can recommend you the tuna with quacomole, fried eggplants with honey and the fried asperges. Really special and really good!

That was all for my official last day in the city barcelona itself, at day 5 we rent a car and drove to Montesserat, spend the day hiking and looking around.

The following days, (i went 9days) we drove through cities and villages close to Barcelona, for exemple we went to Andorra (tax free shopping) and Vic (really lovely city) but in general just exploring the surroundings. Here you’ll have a few photo’s about these last days.

( best ice cream ever, dark chocolate orange, can we have dark chocolate in holland aswell, please?)

I didn’t wanted to get into detail to much, since I am a little behind time schedule and cause I am currently in Curaçao, i’ll wright about this soon aswell! I hope you enjoyed this little serie, or maybe got a bit of inspiration out of it.

Thanks for reading, and i’ll get back to you soon!

BCN diary day3: from the mountain to the sea.

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my Barcelona diary.

This morning we took the underground to Museum d’art, where also the magic fountain is. We walked up the stairs, to get a beautiful view of the city, it was really nice, and so was the magic fountain aswel! Although we didn’t see it at night.

After viewing the city from above, we went to  the park close by, we walked further up the mountain, where you have yet again wonderful views!

At this point we were high in the mountains, and we found one other BCN tourist attraction. And so, we went from the top of the rock to Barceloneta, also known as the beach!

Once in Barceloneta it was around lunchtime, we ate at one of those beach lunchspots, and i had a tuna salad and ‘detox’ smoothie. It was pretty good, but as usual at beach restaurants, overpriced and noisy though.

After lunch we stumbled over the boulevard  at the beach. It was extremely hot and i was dying to take a swim, but the beach was crazy crouwded and laying in the hot sand between sweaty tourists didn’t look very atractive, though it would have been nice to take a swim or have one beach day, it’s a lot more relaxed!  So we adventually went back to the centure of the city. We also came across a park with an amazing fountain.

We ate at Parellada we had a really delicous dinner, just really good quality food and a very lovely place to sit. Also when you finished the first dish, it takes about less then 5minutes before they already bring you your next dish. For this place definetely make a reservation, good thing is; you can make it at the day itself. We went here at 19:00, but the place was closed and would open at 20:30, so we made a reservation for 20:30. Quite late to have dinner, but once you’re in the city you’ll notice that everybody eat’s around 10pm, and with the hot weather this isn’t always too bad.

After dinner we headed back to our hotel, to enjoy a bit of wifi and fall asleep.
That was all for today, untill next time!

BCN Diary day 2: Gaudi Tour

Hi Loves! Today day 2, of my short trip to Barcelona.

This morning i enjoyed breakfast in my hotel, we woke up early cause we had tickets for park Guell at 9:30. The park was really gorgeous, a must-see if you come to Barcelona.

After Parc Guell we went to casa Battol, you get an Audio-tour with a tablet which shows a visual house that comes to life, really cool. Also a very beautiful house.

After visiting two of Gaudi’s works, we went to have lunch. I found a place called Brunch & Cake, and so we went here and had a really delicious lunch! This is the kind of place i would visit all the time if i was a citizen of Barcelona. I had a Mango and chicken salad with the complete vitamine smoothie.

We also planned to go to Casa Mila today, but we weren’t going to make it, since we had tickets for Sagrada Familia at 5 o’clock. So after luch we took the underground and made our way to the extremly crouded but suprisingly beautiful catherdral. I can’t even imagine how this church will look when it’s completely finished. I can understand the hype!

For dinner we ate at Intertapas, the tapas was good, but not really impressive. We didn’t really know where to eat, and my phone who contained a list of restaurants was dead. So we found this place which was close to Sagrada Famillia.
TIP: make a reservation for your tickets at both Park Guell, Sagrada famillia and Casa Battol, the waiting lines are enormous and it’s definetly not fun to stand for a hour in this heat. (i know so, we had to wait for casa barttol.)
That was all for today, untill next time!

BCN DIARY DAY 1

Hi loves! Welcome to my barcelona diary

Today started early. Like really early, (5:00am to be presize). I ate a nut-bar and appel for breakfast while waiting for our plane which boarded at 7 o’clock. And at 8:45 we landed in the oh so hot Barcelona. My first time in this city, so i was excited!

We took a cap to our hotel, dropped our luggage and went for a walk through the city since our room wasn’t ready yet. We walked all the way to the haven which is quite a long walk, but a great way to discover a new city. We had lunch at La Bogueria, the famous market which sells tons of juices, fruit, fish, meat, sweets etc. Really nice!

( In our hotel, the Pol & Grace hotel )

We also visited the Cathedral, a enormous and old church, build in the 11th century, laying in the old (and most beautiful) part of the city. You can take the elevator up to the top, and have a  gorgeous view of the city!

For dinner we went to Bar del pla, my uncle who has his own restaurant (Bun in Antwerp) recommend this to us, and it was really good! To get here we walked through those really narrow typical streets with little boutiques and local restaurants everywhere. We had some really good tapas at this place, i can truly recommend it! Though i’d suggest to make a reservation, or come early like i did. We came at 7pm and just got a last spot. (Since the locals eat dinner around 10pm)

We went back by using the underground. You have a really good deal here where you can buy 10 metro-rides for €10.

That was all for today, I’ll come back to you soon!

My travel plans | Summer 2015

Hi everyone!
Long time no see, and i’m so sorry for that! I’m finally done with school and have Summer Holiday, so also a lot more time to make some posts!
The last time has been really confusing; I might move to Curacao. Yess…. Well i won’t share more about that untill i know if this will actually happen. But because of all this crazyness, this holiday will also be a bit messy. My dad is the kind of type that usually plans a holiday a half year in advance. And so we had plans to go to Peru this year, and later on that even changed to Australia, (which made me extremly happy cause it’s on top of my bucket list). But ever since a job got offerd to my mom, we stopped making plans and kind of waited for more information to the last minute.

Now finally we have our summer holiday plans together! And i’ll share them with you today, so you’ll know what i’m up too and what you’ll see on my blog really soon!

Barcelona:

Monday next week, i’ll be leaving for Barcelona really early, for a week. Besides the city we’ll also visit some of the surrounding city’s. And i’m kinda excited since this will be my first time there! Expect to see a lot of outfit shots from Barcelona, the posts i love most!

Curacao:

After we come back from Barcalona, will be in our holiday home in Zeeland (South of the Netherlands) for 2 weeks and after that we’ll leave for Curacao. We decided that whether the moving-plans will happen or not, we’ll pay Curacao a visit. Just to see the island, cause none of us actually ever has.

This maybe wasn’t the most exciting blogpost, but i wanted to give you a little update and apologize for the long ‘radio silence’!

PS: if you have any recommondations for Barcalona or Curacao for me, please do let me know! 🙂

Speak to you soon!

XOXO
